I know that Linux is the way to have this ported to a device, but what about Symbian and UIQ? I know the Z10/Z8 aren't touch screen based, but would it still work with them?

Z10/Z8 are based on an ARM 11 chip, so it is possible to port. I don't know to what extent it would run on the phone though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no actual "download" of the actual OS. The only people who have gotten it to run on a phone got the OS up and running, but none of the buttons or the GSM worked. It's not worth it, in my opinion.

You are right. As of now, its just the rush to get it working on different devices, nobody really cares about network n stuff.
But once the source-code is out, we'll be able to compile it for different devices with only the libraries we need for that device. That is when porting will be resourceful.
