The weird phone vendor is back in the news for selling Android-based phones. For those who don't know, zzzPhone manufactures custom-made phones where you can accessorize everything from gold plated faceplates to flashlight to diamonds. It has had a shady history (http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/02/21/zzzphone-real-but-not-running-winmo/), shipping phones that ain't US compatible, missing features, Chinese language software etc.
The company now claims it will ship Android based phones by Nov. 30. The unlocked GSM Android zzzPhone which resembles HTC Touch Pro costs $149 and can be accessorized all the way to $225000 ! The stock phone has two SIM card slots, a 3-megapixel camera and an MP3 player.

The website (http://www.zzzphone.com/) is a comedy of grammatical errors so if you dare to visit it, dump your spell-checker. Be prepared to read sentences like "iphone has had problems with not working for people with long fingernails, and a secreet kill switch has been discovered.NOT FULLY LOCKABLE".
The only thing positive is that it shows Android is Open and we can expect many more handsets from other responsible manufacturers.
