Thats the estimate considering T-Mobile tripled its order to HTC after it sold out the initial batch.
The curosity and interest around Android and G1 continues to grow with more and more people joining in. While the handset has received flak for being from 90s and bulky, that does not seem to have reflected on the sales. With 1.5 million handsets set to go out in pre-orders and couple of million more in retail, life looks good for Google and T-Mobile.
The main push for G1 has been the brand Google and its Android platform. The spotlight is on the debutant software platform and how it survives competition from seasoned player like WinMo and Symbian. And while the sound of the million is nice, with 1.5 mil testers eagerly waiting, there is no margin for error, Google has to hit bulls-eye now.
