The shiny YouTube channel educates users on how to send SMS, browse the web, make calls and other frivolous details that you might have not discovered while using the phone. It is not yet clear if the channel name(opentmobile) is an irony on how closed and locked down Android on G1 is or are they ready to
openly accept abuses regarding battery and other issues.
Brendon Cooling, of T-Mobile said the launch of the channel was about expanding the ways the company interacts with customers and will not impact on traditional customer service avenues such as call-centres. "
Social networking is a huge part of life for many of our customers, so launching a channel on YouTube was the next step in order to ensure our customers get the quality of service they deserve" he said.
The channel encourages owners of the G1 to post questions about their phone and receive written and video answers from T-Mobile and YouTube users.
A small tip: asking about root access and jailbreaking might not be a good idea!
