Default Jailbreaking Rootacess and the good stuff

uhmm.. ok UNLOCKING A PHONE and jailbreaking it gaining root access is that the same thing?

i can use any kind of sim card if i have a mod rc30? or no? and is unlocking a diffrent thing from gainign root access

Living sword if anyone can answer this question u can.. is it possible to install factory stock rc30 to a jailbroken/rooted g1 in order to not void warranty?

i unlocked my phone.. rooted it.. and did a bunch of other crazy shit to it.. but how come i still cant use the boost mobile chip to it? any idea

because as living_sword mentioned a few posts above, sim unlocking and jailbreaking are completely different processes. Jailbreaking refers only to the software on the phone, while sim unlocking refers to (probably) the firmware of the GSM radio. Regardless of the operating system on the phone, the hardware of the phone will only accept T-Mobile SIM cards until a SIM unlock is done.
