Potential G2 - the HTC Sapphire 2.0 has been spotted in the wild. All that we know for now is that it sports a 3.2MP camera, no physical keyboard and looks a lot sleeker than G1.

gotta say i dont like it... it looks ok being all in one an round and pebble like but the keys on the front look strange and out of place lol.

ah well ma G1 is safe still and looks like cupcake will have to be included as no keyboard so roll on the release!

I agree that the buttons ruin the design. Why can't they do buttons similar to that of the LG Chocolate where its a sensor rather than a button? less problems. and trackball? seriously? still? why can't they use the same technology they used on the diamond?
Looks wise, i think its ok. I can't say i am a fan of white... come on... people just get comments from Mac fanboys about the phone looking like an Apple product. Maybe a glossy black would be a bit better?

Hardware and software are two different battles... No need to stop hardware design just because some other department is working on software. Plus flash for android is not an HTC or T-Mobile development project, it's Adobe and Google. So as soon as flash is ready it will be for android... and it will work with both of them.

i totally agree with you,but,t-mobile was quick enuff to sell us the fone,so why did'nt they develope this before hand.if the g2 looks like that i too will wait 4 cupcake.

You are missing the point of what I said. T-Mobile did not develop this phone. Whatever they (HTC, Google, other application developers) get working for the G1 will also be for the G2 and the other way around too... Do not decide for or against this device based on software. That's all I'm saying. Software will be the exact same for both! Make your choice off of hardware (physical keyboard, buttons, style, look, feel, processor, wifi, etc...). Plus this phone can't launch until the cupcake update is in place :P since it has no physical keyboard they won't just magically make it work. So At that point you can make the choice about which form factor you like better... the Software will be no different.

wonder how big it is???? from these pics and up close ones of the G1 (i don't have my G1 yet- been swindled twice on ebay!!) they look very similar in size...... screen looks about the same and even the chin looks to be a similar size.... strange- why can they make the touch HD with such a small chin and not an android phone??????
