Default RC33 in the air

T-Mobile has another update up it's sleeves - RC33, which is supposed to reach you before Feb 15. An e-mail sent out describes the update,
Quote:
To ensure a great experience with the T-mobile G1 with Google, customers with these devices will receive an Over the Air (OTA) update to their devices between February 5 and February 15. The OTA will include new system enhancements such as the ability to save pictures or files by long-pressing an item, check for system updates, and use the Google Voice Search feature. The OTA will also fix a number of known issues. New G1 activations will receive the OTA up to three days after service has been activated.
If you have jailbroken(rooted) the phone, hold on, there will be a release shortly.

I can only imagine this will reverse our rooted G1's. Judging by the screenshot I hope this means someone already has it and is making available for those to analyze.

1. We won't recieve it as an update as jesusfrekes has dissabled it (as jongilluley stated), but im sure he will be working on it as soon as he gets hold of it himself.

2. As far is a have read and heard CupCake is not the name of an update we are 'supposed' to recieve, it is the name of the group that are creating the update.

Looking forward to it, some good little functions that will comed in handy

Has anyone recieved it yet??

Cupcake is the name of the developmental branch of Android. It's not the name of a group.

I couldn't wait for their OTA notice. Downloading and installing it was a breeze. Oh and I didn't encounter any problems that people had like dropped calls and what not. And I think it's not because of the downloading/installing either but which batch of G1 you got.
