Default Using my G1 in the uk with T-Mobile

Hi,

Does anyone know whether it will work if I want to use my G1 in the UK using a T-Mobile Pay as you go Sim Card? Would I still need to unlock my phone even though I will still be using T-Mobile overseas?

I know I can use the G1 overseas with the US sim card but the roaming fees are ridiculous.

Any info you can supply would be great,

Thanks

I think you better unlock the phone.

I use a sim from a discounter in Germany, which is in the network of t-mo Germany. Works without unlocking.

I've used an older american contract motorola in the past in the UK with a tmobile prepaid sim and had no issues. I'm assuming as long as it's tmobile it should be fine. Even here in the states the prepaid and contract phone sims are interchangeable. Good luck have a good time on your trip. I found it was cheaper to buy a uk charger for it than buy an adapter to use for my exisiting charger. Most of the little private mobile shops all over, even the ones stuck in cyber cafes and the like can help you with your phone. Theyre pretty savy, and most provide unlocking services if you find it won't work once once you've switched sims. A 20 pound top up lasted an entire two weeks for me, the plans are a bit cheaper than what you'd expect on prepaid.
