Is your GPS on or are you just going by cell location? You do understand you need to be outdoors correct?

Has nothing to do with WIFI

The GPS uses satellites to see where you are. The satellites send a signal to your phone and using several of them and measuring the time it takes for each signal to get to your phone, triangulate your location. Therefore, you need to be outside to get a clear view of the satellites in order for it to get a fix on your location.

You can get "close" with cell phone location which uses the tower you are connected to in order to get a fix on your approx whereabouts. Again, this will be unaffected by WIFI.

Your GPS if on, will display a small sattelite in the top portion of the screen. Simply click current location in maps and it will let you know whether or not it is active.

Hope this helps....

I have never heard of WiFi being used for gps ... but maybe I'm just old school, or maybe I'm right. My gps is always accurate and has never let me down thus far, just make sure you have a nice clear view of the sky and you should be set.
